Booking.com, part of Booking Holdings, is the largest online travel agency in the world, with around 28 million accommodation listings, from hotels to apartments and homes.
Different countries get access to different inventory, sales channels, local rates and promotions. Searching the same hotel from another country can open up prices you cannot get from your own country, on Booking.com itself or from another seller of the identical hotel. For the same item, the gap is often 5-30%.
Prices also move over time. Hotel rates follow demand, so the rate you booked can drop days or weeks later while your reservation is still inside its free-cancellation window.
Why You Need a Booking.com Price Tracker
Checking Booking.com from your own country shows you one price out of 195. What to check on Booking.com before you pay
Genius discounts apply only when you are signed in, and only at participating properties. They are a discount on the price you get from your own country, not a replacement for searching the same hotel from other countries.
