There are eight main options in the hotel price tracker category, and three things decide how much each one can find for you: whether it searches at checkout, whether it searches again after you book, and from how many countries it searches. The decision rule is simple. Pick the one that searches the same hotel from other countries, because that is where the largest price differences are. Arbitrica searches from all 195.

Why a hotel price tracker matters in 2026

Hotel pricing is more dynamic and more opaque than at any point since online travel agencies arrived. The same hotel can carry several different prices on the same night depending on the site, the currency, the member tier and the country you search from. Checking all of them by hand is not realistic. A hotel price tracker does that work for you, before or after you book.

The online travel agency model took off in the late 1990s, and pricing has only become more complex since. 2. Pruvo

Pruvo was a post-booking tracker. You forwarded your booking confirmation by email, Pruvo read the property and dates, and checked the price on the same booking platform. When it found a drop, you cancelled and rebooked manually. Pruvo was founded in 2016, and the email-based onboarding was easy.

Limitation: single country, no geographic search, manual rebooking only.

Update: Web Travel Group has announced its acquisition of Pruvo, which now presents itself as a business-to-business platform with consumer bookings no longer supported. 3. RoomHawk

RoomHawk says it searches and tracks over 2 million hotel rooms and monitors price drops for a stay you choose. It also advertises AI-powered auto-rebooking, though its site does not explain how that step works.

Limitation: it does not describe searching the same hotel from other countries, and there is no search at checkout.

4. RatePunk

RatePunk is a browser extension focused on comparing platforms before checkout. When you reach a hotel listing on Booking.com, Expedia or Hotels.com, RatePunk shows the same hotel's price on other platforms. It is available for several browsers and as a mobile app, and it also covers flights. For users who want to know whether the same hotel is listed lower on another site right now, RatePunk is a clean experience.

Limitation: its hotel product works at one moment, before booking, and it is not built to search the same hotel from 195 countries.

5. Repriced

Repriced is one of the few post-booking trackers that handles rebooking for you. You connect your email or upload your bookings, Repriced monitors flight and hotel prices, and when they drop it rebooks or secures credits without manual effort, according to its April 2026 announcement. The same announcement said it would move to a paid subscription in May 2026.

Limitation: it works after booking only, with no search at checkout, and it does not describe searching the same hotel from many countries.

6. OneAir

OneAir is a travel membership that tracks flight and hotel prices. After you book a hotel, it watches for price drops and, according to its published coverage, can rebook the same stay at a lower rate. It also offers private hotel rates and flight deals.

Limitation: hotel tracking is one feature among many, and there is no geographic search from other countries.

7. Hotel Ninja

Hotel Ninja is a simple post-booking tracker that emails you when the price of a booked hotel drops.

Limitation: single country, no search at checkout, manual rebooking. Monitoring only starts once you have booked.

8. Directo

Directo is a browser extension that looks for a hotel's own booking website while you browse a listing on Booking.com, Airbnb or Vrbo, so you can book direct instead of through the platform. For loyalty-program members, booking direct sometimes brings member rates or perks such as breakfast or late checkout.

Limitation: narrow focus on direct-vs-platform booking. No post-booking monitoring and no geographic search. When it finds the hotel's site, you may need to enter your dates and guests again.

Which hotel price tracker saves the most money?

The one that searches the same hotel from the most countries. Without geographic search, the most any tracker can find is a drop over time on one country's listing. With it, the same hotel is often 5-30% cheaper from another country before any drop happens. In a test of 1,000 hotels searched from 100 countries, 80% of countries showed a lower price than the traveler's own country, with a typical gap of 20-40%.

In one real booking, Booking.com offered $1,527.39 and Arbitrica found $1,180.27 for the identical hotel, earning the user $347.12 (23%). Research showed that people earn on average $47 per hotel booking with Arbitrica, and up to $3,000 a year.
